Our Goal



    Iceman Scholarship Program

       The Michigan Youth Cycling Program would like to recognize a student athlete at the completion
       of the 2010 Iceman Cometh Challenge. This cyclist will have made a commitment to cycling and
       represented the values of good character, courage, goal setting, and self-discipline through friendly
       competition. We recognize that young racers sacrifice time, money, and energy to represent their teams,
       family and cycling;often with little to no support those outside the cycling community. Kids Race Sports                                    Development, proud sponsor of the Michigan Youth Cycling Program, would like to recognize this hard
       work by awarding a scholarship to a deserving individual in an effort to support their educational
       endeavors. The Michigan Youth Cycling Program will award an academic scholarship to the fastest
       male and female, 18 and under rider.

     
.    Scholarship Awards:

First place riders, male & female will receive a $1000.00 Scholarship.

Second place riders, male & female will receive a $500.00 Scholarship.

Third place riders, male & female will receive a $300.00 Scholarship

       Fourth place riders, male & female will recive a $100.00 Scholarship
      
       Fifth place riders, male & female will recive a $25.00 Scholarshp

    Iceman Juniors will have two new categories

        New for 2010, Iceman Juniors 18 & Under will have two categories ,one for males and one for females.


        The new MYC Scholarship 18 and under categories will kick off the 2010 Iceman Cometh racing at 9am sharp!




      

Michigan Challenge Junior Scholarship Series Awards

Michigan Youth Cycling and the MBRA are proud to announce the first Annual Junior Scholarship Points Series

The series is comprised of eleven Michigan Challenge races starting with the Wolverine sponsored Willow TT. For a complete list of the series races and the sponsors supporting it please visit michiganyouthcycling.org

The top three 18 & Under  male and female winners will all share a $5,000 scholarship purse along with trophies and prizes at the conclusion of the season. Overall series winners will receive a $1,250.00 scholarship, 2nd place will receive $750.00 and 3rd $500.00

This promises to be a very competitive junior series aimed at supporting the dreams of our future cycling stars.

Cyclist of the Year Award:

We are currently looking to establish funding for the Cyclist of the Year Award, effective for the 2010 season. If you are interested in funding this program or know of a potential resource, please contact Matt Baroli

The goal of the program will be to award a $500.00 to $5,000.00 academic scholarship to the  Cyclist of the Year. In 2009 we award are first Junior Cyclist of the Year Award to Zoe Reeves from the Priority Health Cycling Team.

Cyclists can be nominated & Sponsor  by any Local Bike Shop, Cyclist  will summit a 100 word essay on why they should be the cyclist of the year, along  with a $25 application fee to:

Dead Line for application is DEC 15th, 2010.

All nominees will be carefully considered by a Michigan Youth Cycling panel and one selected as the Cyclist of the Year!

Cyclist must be 18 years old or under to apply for this scholarship.
