Michigan Youth Cycling PRESENTS RUDYARD peterson with $3500 in scholarships
Banner Year for MYC as Record Scholarships are presented
Pinckney, MI, September 1, 2013– Michigan Youth Cycling is proud to announce that Rudyard “Rudy” Peterson was recently presented with a check totaling $3500 in scholarships which will be used towards his attendance at Marian College where he can use his entire academic and cycling talents to the fullest.
“This scholarship is a great milestone for MYC, it is the single largest scholarship that we’ve presented. It represents everything that our program stands for; dedication, hard work and passion to the sport of cycling.” ~ Jeff Buerman – MYC President
This scholarship was awarded to Rudy for top results achieved at Iceman and Berry Roubaix as well as being the 2012 Steve Brown AKA “ICEMAN” Junior Cyclist of the Year Award.
Michigan Youth Cycling is a Michigan 501(C)(3) Non-Profit Corporation, the mission of which is to promote physical activity among youth and families through sports, mainly competitive cycling in Michigan. Our mission is multifaceted in concept:
- A. Recognize Student athletes by awarding cycling scholarships in an effort to support their educational endeavors.
- B. To aid in the development of the youth as a student, community service, as well as offering coaching and skills advancement through the experience and support of adult team members.
