Cyclist of the Year
Danielle is a 10th Grade student at Notre Dame Prep High School and rides for the Wolverine Elite Cycling Team

She has been passionate about cycling since she started riding at the local velodrome in Rochester Hills in 2008. In 2009 she won a National Title at Track Nationals in California. Since this time she has won 10 medals at National events and she is particularly proud of her Bronze medal that she won in the road race at Road Nationals in Georgia in June 2011. From starting with the track, Danielle has now branched out to try many forms of cycling – MTB, Road and cyclocross. She was particularly thrilled with her podium placing at the Iceman last year. She views MTB as fun, track as her strongest event, road as the discipline she enjoys most and CX as little more than hard work.

Not only is Danielle and avid cyclist she also plays Oboe/English Horn for the Oakland Youth Orchestra as well as a further 10 or so instruments pretty well for Marching Band (drums/sax), Jazz Band (sax) and Pit (clarinet). This year she also represented the school ski team and is now trying to juggle playing Varsity tennis with her bike training. She has also sung the National Anthem at several Michigan cycling events and sporting events.

Danielle is on the lookout for a University where she can use all of her academic, musical and cycling talents to the full. She has her eye on the University of Michigan and Penn State amongst many others.
